| We can't say enough about Hans and Ray Apelles. Again and again, they have fulfilled the role of consultant, instructor, mentor, motivator and friend to us. Ray is a walking airgun and FT bible, and Hans is just one of the finest people you will ever meet. And there shouldn't be any questions about how this father and son team shoots. On a larger scale, their contribution to the sport of Field Target has been immeasurable. And as driven as Ray is, the best is likely yet to come from the A-Team. Lots to learn at their site. Alan Zasadny |
Not too much to say here that hasn't already been said. Simply, I guess maybe if you haven't heard, Alan may be the best all-around custom airgun engineer in the US, if not the world. His innovations, insightfulness, and attention to quality is, amazingly enough, evenly matched only by his skills as a world-class FT competitor. Alan can be reached in his shop at 847.838.0187 Leave a message if he doesn't pick up - he is busy beyond belief and if he's not on the phone, he won't hear it ring over the lathe or CNC. Alan does not have an email connection. Click here to put a face with the name. |
| One of the best airgun website on the Intranet. Owned and operated by Robert Buchannon, you will find just about anything airgun and Field Target related that you'd need. If you can't find something on his website, Robert can answer most every question over the telephone, which he prefers over email. He's a character like none other, who takes pride in his work, his contribution to the sport, and in his wonderful family. You can reach AOA at 480.461.1113 | |
| American Airguns | Brad Troyer's time-honored site. None better to navigate around the Airgun Community at large. Actually there isn't much of a reason to go anywhere else - you can get to everything airgun related from this single launching point. And if you ever get the opportunity, walk up and introduce yourself to Brad, he's a first-rate individual, skilled competitor, the current Chairman of AAFTA, and a Field Target mentor to us all. So you'll know who he is....click here to meet Brad. |
| Anthony Storey | It is an honor for us the be considered friends with Anthony Storey. He's as good as they come. Any opportunity to run over to Indianapolis to shoot with Anthony at the Marion County Fish and Gun Club, and we're there. He's been in the sport of field target as long as the sports been in the US, and likely knows more about scopes and there application to Field Target then anyone out there. He's another busy one, but he'll go out of way to help you. Click the link to the left to send him email or here to meet Anthony in person. |
| Tim McMurry / USFT (Mac1 Airguns) |
There has been much discussed over the past couple years about the USFT airguns from Tim McMurry at Mac1 Airguns (and its predecessor, the “Simple Simmon” from LD.) Unfortunately not much middle ground seems to exist…either you love it, or you hate it. I personally think the USFT is a field target and engineering marvel, and while I can no longer include myself in the current “USFT User’s Group”, I very much plan to again someday. I think every US airgun accuracy and field target junkie should own a USFT. Click here to go to my USFT pages. |
| Steve Dingledine | Many of you probably know Steve, or at least you recognize the name. Well, Steve is one of my best airgun buddies, and is generally just one of those really great people that I am glad to know and have as a friend. Not surprisingly, when we do get the occasion to talk over the phone, it can go on for hours. We've also done some pretty interesting airgun dealings, that have involved road trips, either meeting half-way in-between our home states of WV and NC, or with me and Denise visiting Steve and Lori at their home. If any of you ever deal with Steve you will know what I mean when I say he is a "stand-up" guy and as good as it gets. Oh yeah....and he's a real good shot too!! Shooting his USFT...meet Steve Dingledine. |
